Bradford Scriptwriter Wins BlueCat Award

Great news for City of Film to see new talent being recognised, we are pleased to announce that a local scriptwriter has won ‘The Bluecats screenplay competiton Cordelia Award 2014’

BlueCat Screenplay competition has been discovering and developing writers since 1998

 

 

The script is ‘Face to Face’ and has been written by Jason Pittock from Bradford who is now hoping to turn his work into a feature after receiving such positive public response.
The Cordelia Award is a $1500 USD honorarium to the best screenplay. The award was developed in honour of the English writer Shakespeare, the BlueCat felt compelled to bestow a special recognition within their competition, apart from the main prizes, to the best screenplay submitted by a writer residing in the U.K.

 

The BlueCat Screenplay Competition based in Hollywood dedicates itself to the development of screenwriters worldwide Founded and judged by award-winning screenwriter Gordy hoffman. Amongst this The BlueCat offers a number of workshops, screenwriting help and script consultations. There are a selection  of other competitions; 

The  Features competition where the winner will receive $15,000.

-Four Finalists will receive $2500 each.

The Shorts  Competition where the winner will receive $10,000.

-Three Finalists will receive $1500 each.

The Joplin competition where the award will go to the best Feature screenplay written by a screenwriter residing outside the USA, Canada or the UK and will receive $1500.

Eligibility

– Submitted scripts must be original screenplays, and the sole property of the applicant(s).

– All ages are eligible.

– All entries must be in English.

– Feature screenplays must be between 75 and 125 pages in length. Absolutely no exceptions.

– Short screenplays must be between 5 and 40 pages in length. Absolutely no exceptions.

– There is no limit to the number of screenplays you may submit. 

– All entries must be uploaded in PDF format.
