With a long history of production and a strong media heritage, Yorkshire is the ideal location to study film and television, offering a wide range of opportunities for young people wanting a career in the industry.

Located in The City of Film itself, The University of Bradford teaches a wide range of interesting courses such as film studies, media studies and filmmaking and offers an exciting, diverse community for it’s students. Staff with experience in production and the University’s strong links to the industry creates unique courses and interesting modules for their students.

Perfect for students interested in the more creative side of media, the Interactive Media course combines art, design, filmmaking and animation together to create a course full of exciting briefs, that will allow you to develop important, sort after skills and explore your creative abilities.

Situated in the centre of Leeds, and offering courses taught in the Northern Film School, Leeds Beckett University enables students to learn creatively and succeed in the industry.  As well as being mentored by current filmmakers and experienced staff the course has resulted in past students going on to be directors and filmmakers, one of which was shortlisted for an Oscar.

Leeds Trinity University gives students an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the industry, with courses in film and television studies, that will encourage you to think about theoretical as well as practical aspects of production.

Places such as Craven College, York College and Wakefield College allow young people to move on from their school education and study media and film in more depth. The courses they offer are a great way for young people to start expanding their knowledge of the industry and production.

With Yorkshire being a popular film location and the home of many films and actors, it offers inspiration to young people as well as huge learning opportunities. Yorkshire is the perfect destination for people wanting an education that encourages students to think differently and creatively and that will help lead the way to a career in the industry.
